Jaimey Walking Bear (that’s me!) has built a 20+ year track record of leadership in the event, tech, entertainment, and retail sectors. Jaimey’s passion for the event business is rooted in his love for connecting subject experts, creatives, makers, and doers with an audience — and with each other — in the limitless opportunities available in that space for you to be amazing and transform the world.
His mantra is to be the spark that lights bridges to holy cow opportunities for thriving communities, and he is committed to transforming the event industry to be more inclusive, and a platform for opportunity for underserved communities.
For more than 3 years, Jaimey has led program development, marketing, and strategic partnership efforts for TechMedia’s national series of Digital Summit marketing conferences. During that time he’s had the pleasure of booking and working with leaders including Seth Godin, Ann Handley, Gary Vaynerchuk, Beverly Jackson, David Shing, Chris Brogan, and many more. In addition to working with these industry luminaries, Jaimey’s been responsible for booking, managing, and developing hundreds of industry experts for Digital Summit’s conference programs. He’s collaborated with and served some of the nation’s leading foundations, associations, and grassroots community organizations.
Prior to Digital Summit, Jaimey led programming and marketing for DC-based outfit, Modev — producing conferences including ModevCon, ModevUX, and Wearables+Things. During a two-year span he booked and nurtured hundreds of speaker relationships from the Mobile Development, UX and Design, Marketing, and Entrepreneurial communities.
Before Modev, Jaimey was a key member of the O'Reilly Media Conference team for more than five years — leading marketing, community, and speaker relations efforts for O’Reilly’s Velocity, Strata, OSCON, Fluent, Gov 2.0, Where 2.0, ETech, and Web 2.0 Summit events.
Jaimey is a founding organizer and former board member of the Petaluma Music Festival, an annual non-profit concert event responsible for raising over $300,000 for music education programs since 2008.
Jaimey’s wife Tiffany and daughters, Zara and Zoë, are his heart. Music of all varieties is his soul. He loves baseball (go #SFGiants!), speaking out for social, food and economic justice, the City of Detroit, the cosmos, and the magic of Tuolumne Meadows.
Originally from Northern California, Jaimey and Tiffany currently call Matagalpa, Nicaragua home. They’re loving life at their native bee sanctuary, among the native bees and flora, their sixteen chickens, their puppies — Hugo and Canela — and their Expat Tortoiseshell kitty, Ysabella.
